Are the effects of steroid cream for eczema reversible?
for example the skin thinning thing, can i get back to normal? the cream clears the eczema, but the skin becomes thin…and the eczema always comes back to the exact same spot! I hate this condition, and i am very worried about the side effects…i wonder if i can use something other than steroids to clear my eczema…the itching is disrupting my sleep, if i don’t get a good night rest i might try tranquilizers! so does anyone has any remedy for this? i know eczema is incurable but there has to be one!!
The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and milk products which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I’ve turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, which aim at the root of the disease – the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 2 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with anti-eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.
i have bad eczema!! gentle creams to get rid of it?
i only get it in the summer. chlorine makes it a lot worse. i’m looking for a gentle cream with not a lot of chemicals in it that will get rid of my eczema. preferably something i can get at the grocery store or drug store.
My daughter’s eczema gets bad in the summer too. For over the counter products, I found that eucerin works pretty good. Cetaphil also makes a cream for dry and sensitive skin. It’s not as thick as eucerin, so it’s easier to apply.
What’s a good remedy for eczema?
My partner has eczema on his face, hands and the inside of his elbows. He’s tried a lot of creams and shiit but nothing has seemed to work. He went to the dermatologist the other day and she basically said she had no idea. It’s really itchy and sore and it gets red and dry. Has anybody else had this or any thing similar to this? and if so how do you get rid of it???
My cousin’s daughter has eczema on her elbows, legs, and cheeks, as well as the tops of her hands and wrists. She has had it ever since she was a baby and the only things that seem to have worked well for her are Calamine lotion (sorry, it’s a cream) or an oatmeal bath. She also uses an oil-based soap that is unscented and my cousin is very careful to make sure her skin does not get dried out. Basically make sure he isn’t using harsh soaps, scented soaps, chemicals that could dry his skin out or things that could irritate his skin. It’s also a good idea to make sure he applies a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30, especially with the summer season.
One thing you and your partner should keep in mind, is that everyone’s skin type is different and not everyone’s skin will work the same. What may work for most people, may not work for him. My best advice would be to find out more about the disease and try to make changes to accommodate eczema. Here is a good starting point for him ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eczema ) along with having him check with OTHER doctors/dermatologists and trusted online medical sources such as WebMD
Good Luck to you and your partner. Hope I helped!
Best eczema healing cream or lotion without a prescription?
My eczema is so bad that lotion doesn’t seem to do anything anymore and in result, the skin around the patches is soft as a baby’s butt and the eczema is red and dry and irritated. I got a prescription for it, but since my eczema is on my hands, I never feel safe putting it on because I use my hands to eat, etc.
