what are good home remedies for eczema?
i have really bad eczema all over my arms, and medicine can be on the pricey side as we all know. I wanted to know are there any good home remedies to help with my eczema?
I had hand eczema really bad and I was a massage therapist! I tried everything under the sun, I think! (I had insurance that covered the doctors, dermatologist and the prescriptions.) I also tried OTC meds and even went to the health food store to get natural eczema remedies. What I found that worked best on treating the irritable symptoms were – raw organic avocado oil, coconut butter and oil. Also, I soaked my hands in oatmeal baths for relief.
But, still the chronic issue lasted and just imagine my massage clients’ faces when they saw the looks of the hands that were going to be rubbing on them! (Many people still think that it’s contagious!) Anyway, I needed an eczema cure and so went on to researching natural ways,m since I knew that drugs were more harmful than good and only treated the symptoms! (My hands started having a bleached look and I found out that’s a side effect of the steroidal creams!)
Here’s what I found out — eczema is actually a symptom of underlying issues within the body…. acidic body that’s out of balance. I started trying things like body cleansing diets and wholefood supplements that had a major impact on my outbreaks!!! But, I still needed more. Found an ebook that has the perfect formula for getting rid of eczema and it involves some simple, basic steps. You should look into it, because I haven’t had an outbreak since!
What’s a good remedy for eczema?
My partner has eczema on his face, hands and the inside of his elbows. He’s tried a lot of creams and shiit but nothing has seemed to work. He went to the dermatologist the other day and she basically said she had no idea. It’s really itchy and sore and it gets red and dry. Has anybody else had this or any thing similar to this? and if so how do you get rid of it???
My cousin’s daughter has eczema on her elbows, legs, and cheeks, as well as the tops of her hands and wrists. She has had it ever since she was a baby and the only things that seem to have worked well for her are Calamine lotion (sorry, it’s a cream) or an oatmeal bath. She also uses an oil-based soap that is unscented and my cousin is very careful to make sure her skin does not get dried out. Basically make sure he isn’t using harsh soaps, scented soaps, chemicals that could dry his skin out or things that could irritate his skin. It’s also a good idea to make sure he applies a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30, especially with the summer season.
One thing you and your partner should keep in mind, is that everyone’s skin type is different and not everyone’s skin will work the same. What may work for most people, may not work for him. My best advice would be to find out more about the disease and try to make changes to accommodate eczema. Here is a good starting point for him ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eczema ) along with having him check with OTHER doctors/dermatologists and trusted online medical sources such as WebMD
Good Luck to you and your partner. Hope I helped!
Remedy to Soft Hands for a person with Eczema?
Hello,
I had been diagnosed with hand eczema for a year and a half already. My dermatologist gave me an ointment to help me heal the broken skin. Now, I have really rough skin and my skin breaks whenever it wants. I really don’t care about the breakage of my skin because it occurs rarely. But, my rough skin is something that bothers me. Everyone notes them.
So now, the question is;
Does anyone know a remedy towards soft skin?
and
Does anyone know why the eczema and skin breakage come back, and how can I combat it?
Please please, this is the call of a desperate person,
Greatly appreciated,
Jari
I’ve tried oil and ointments nothing works.
I used to use organic coconut butter that I got at the health food store. I would put on cotton gloves with it on every night. Sometimes I would put latex gloves on top of the cotton gloves when really bad so that I could slab on a thick coat of coconut butter and didn’t want to grease everything else up at night or during the day.
15 years ago, was when I was first diagnosed with eczema and for many years I battled this condition with pharmaceutical meds, OTC ointments and other lotions and potions! Outbreaks kept recurring! There was no healing in sight! – just management. I started using more natural approaches to help control the irritating symptoms such as oatmeal baths, coconut butter, neem lotion, sea salt soaks, etc,.. Of course these helped but still no cure.
I went online and read, read, read on holistic approaches and this is how I finally cured my hand eczema – for 3 years now no outbreaks and healthier than ever! (The scars have even vanished!) I blogged about it to help others!
