What’s a good remedy for eczema?

My partner has eczema on his face, hands and the inside of his elbows. He’s tried a lot of creams and shiit but nothing has seemed to work. He went to the dermatologist the other day and she basically said she had no idea. It’s really itchy and sore and it gets red and dry. Has anybody else had this or any thing similar to this? and if so how do you get rid of it???

My cousin’s daughter has eczema on her elbows, legs, and cheeks, as well as the tops of her hands and wrists. She has had it ever since she was a baby and the only things that seem to have worked well for her are Calamine lotion (sorry, it’s a cream) or an oatmeal bath. She also uses an oil-based soap that is unscented and my cousin is very careful to make sure her skin does not get dried out. Basically make sure he isn’t using harsh soaps, scented soaps, chemicals that could dry his skin out or things that could irritate his skin. It’s also a good idea to make sure he applies a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30, especially with the summer season.

One thing you and your partner should keep in mind, is that everyone’s skin type is different and not everyone’s skin will work the same. What may work for most people, may not work for him. My best advice would be to find out more about the disease and try to make changes to accommodate eczema. Here is a good starting point for him ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eczema ) along with having him check with OTHER doctors/dermatologists and trusted online medical sources such as WebMD

Good Luck to you and your partner. Hope I helped!

eczema skin discoloration?

so i have eczema and i have cream that’s from a dermatologist and works really well. the only thing is that i have lighter patches on my skin from where the eczema was. is there any way to make it match my skin? (im olive skined and the patches are kinda white)
this sounds crazy but can i put conceler on it? it isnt rough anymore

DO NOT put concealer on your skin until your eczema is completely cured and healed because you don’t want to flare up.

I’ve heard that the fish spa works well and has positive effects

Natural eczema remedy?

Would you somebody tell me, Can a Natural Eczema Treatment Help You?

EmJe,

Absolutely a natural eczema treatment will help you. Many people are turning to natural eczema remedies because they are a lot safer to use than prescribed medications.

The problem I see with dermatologists is generally they will give you something that will help you with the symptoms instead of getting down to the root cause of what is causing your eczema to flare up. When your skin gets irritated and a rash develops, that is your body letting you know that something is not quite right.

Our bodies will do whatever it can to try and remove the toxins that are inside and will use our skin as a way of escape. It does this to push these toxins away from our vital organs.

The first thing I would do is have yourself checked for allergies including food allergies also. Dairy products seems to be on top of the list as the main culprit. Another thing you need to do is to change your diet. Make sure you are getting plenty of omega 3 which contains essential fatty acids our bodies use to keep the skin naturally moisturized. It doesn’t cost much to see a nutrition specialist and make sure your diet is supplying you with all the key nutrients and vitamins your body needs.

You can treat the Symptoms at home with great success, but when you treat the symptoms your just providing yourself with short term relief. Your best bet is to find the Cause so you can really take control of it.

Good luck and I hope you find the answer you’re looking for.

Does anyone know any remedies for extreme facil eczema?

My son has been diagnose with chronic eczema. He has it all over his body and face. It is getting worse. He has been prescriped steroid cream but cannot use on his face. He can’t remember the name of the cream that the doctor recommended to use. Does anyone know of a cream that can be used on his face. He was also told to use an over the counter cream before applying the steroid cream on any of the affected areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. He is an adult and never had any skin issues until he was 23 yrs of age.

I also have Eczema…I have it on my arms, legs, and forhead. I have found that Eucrin cream helps or a hydrocordizone cream. The eucrin cream would probably be the best option. The Eucrin cream does take a little time to work, so it isnt an instant relief! Good Luck! Tell him I know how he feels!

what is the best way to care for skin when you have eczema?

Like lotions or creams because i know someone who is always scratching their skin and i’m sure this will leave scars.

I recently encountered eczema on two fingers on my left hand and between a knuckle and one finger on the right hand.
mine happens every summer (seasonal allergy?) it itched like crazy and dried my hands out awful. im using a med called Lidex and its very helpful. im not sure how it would all over the body, depending on where the eczema is.
but I found this helpful for me, using Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment, its ground oatmeal and you bathe in it, its makes you feel soft and helps with the itching also their aveeno skin relief skin moisturizing lotion (without menthol) helps with the dryness excema causes..its non greasy and soothing..
I get summer itchys like mad and this is what helps control it.
good luck!
